APPLICANT CONTENDS THAT:
He did not receive the ACM for his deployment in 2003.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:
His DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty reflects he served on active duty from 30 May 83 to 30 Nov 08. He was honorably retired on 1 Dec 08 in the grade of colonel. He served 25 years, 6 months and 1 day on active duty.

AIR FORCE EVALUATION:
AFPC/DPSIDR recommends denial. DPSIDR states the ACM is awarded to service members who were assigned or attached to a unit participating in direct support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF) for 30 consecutive or 60 nonconsecutive days in the area of eligibility (AOE) of Afghanistan for the inclusive period 18 Oct 01 to a date to be determined. There was no official documentation or records located to verify he served in the AOE in support of OEF.

APPLICANT'S REVIEW OF AIR FORCE EVALUATION:
A copy of the Air Force evaluation was forwarded to the applicant 1 May 09, for review and comment within 30 days. As of this date, no response has been received by this office.

THE BOARD CONCLUDES THAT:
1. The applicant has exhausted all remedies provided by existing law or regulations.
2. The application was timely filed.
3. Sufficient relevant evidence has been presented to demonstrate the existence of an error or an injustice. After reviewing the available documentation, we believe sufficient evidence has been provided to support award of the ACM for the applicant's participation in direct support of OEF. Therefore, we recommend his records be corrected to the extent indicated below.

The pertinent military records of the Department of the Air Force relating to APPLICANT, be corrected to show that he was awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal.
